My Design Inspiration
I was brought on by an old idea that I had growing up. I always wanted to either write a book or two of my life and my experiences. I always wanted to find some way that will help or reassure parents’, or parents’ that suffer with a chronic condition; that they are not the only one as well as tips that will help.
When reading the text of photoshop I sat for awhile and could not come up with something that will have meaning. I have ideas in mind, but I found it very difficult to create. I really wanted to install the idea of my goal, but in an ad like version, so I came up with a magazine cover.
My design process
I began by going into photoshop and uploading a stack of images that I knew I wanted to upload. When doing this, it creates its very own layer pile up. I put the images in the order I wanted them, such as sending some forward and some backwards. After locking the main image, I began by resizing the photos to a rough estimate of size. Next I edited the images and darken and blurred some parts that I felt are going to have some texts over it and add dimension to the flowers. I added the text and bolded so it can be visible over the flowers, without placing a background behind the text. I finished my creation by saving it and uploading it.
My difficulties
I used to do computer design and one of the things I used daily was Photoshop. I did this for 3 years straight and stopped working with it a couple years back. When I first repurchased photoshop, I was originally excited.. but then I opened up the updated version of photoshop and was intimated. I didn’t realize that coming from a Dell to a MacBook Pro is totally different. It took a little bit of time for me to get comfortable, but then I got back in the groove and it brought back memories. I will admit, I forgot a few tricks and techniques I had to for enhancements, but it came to me. I was unsure how to adjust font and edit it, but with some tweaking of the spacing of letters and the types of font, I figured it out. I created my own barcode that will lead back to my website, but even now I don’t think it works as smoothly as I would have hoped.
